An Inside Look into the Lives of Huntzinger Consultants

Managing Director and Client Executive. My goal is to build long-lasting relationships with our clients by working with them to achieve their business objectives and providing them with solutions that exceed their expectations. I work with my clients and colleagues to provide advisory, implementation, management and staffing services, and have recently launched Huntzinger’s Merger, Acquisition and Affiliation (MA&A) Information Technology Methodology.

Time at Huntzinger
8.5 years

Time in Healthcare IT
I started out in healthcare as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, transitioning into IT within the first several years. I’ve been in healthcare IT for more than 25 years.

What was Your Most Recent Assignment?
Most recently I was part of a team of Huntzinger consultants and Next Wave Health Advisors who developed a set of customized documents and processes to function as the Information Technology (IT) MA&A Playbook for Michigan Medicine. Our services included integrating Huntzinger’s and Michigan Medicine’s tools, and aligning these tools with organizational and strategic objectives, to meet the specific needs of Michigan Medicine’s Health Information Technology Services (HITS). This resulted in a standardized and disciplined approach to IT MA&A assessments, assisting HITS and Michigan Medicine executives as they pursue their strategic goals through MA&A.

What is Your Domain Strength?
Providing leadership and direction to successfully execute implementation and MA&A IT transitions, and strategically aligning the IT team with organizational goals, including financial and clinical program management leadership for large-scale academic medical centers.

What are Your Hobbies?
Sporting Clays. When I’m not working, you can find me on the sporting clays course. Unlike other shotgun sports, sporting clays was originally designed to simulate hunting. Clay targets are presented in a variety of woods and field situations that simulate the flight path of different birds, and rabbits, on a course that’s challenging and fun, and is commonly referred to as “golf with a shotgun.”

What Do You Enjoy Most About Being a Huntzinger Consultant?
The teamwork. We have an amazingly talented team of consultants and office personnel who support one another and work collaboratively, both internally, and with our clients, to ensure we provide the results, and bring the value, our clients require.
