An Inside Look into the Lives of Huntzinger Consultants
“I am a subcontractor with Huntzinger specializing as a Cerner consultant. I help Huntzinger’s clients develop their physician documentation, assist them with HIM workflow, system design, and optimization.”
Time at Huntzinger
Almost two years
Time in Healthcare IT
“I’ve been in health IT since 2005. All that time has been focused on Cerner solutions, including working at Cerner for a stint. I have also worked for a large hospital organization and I've been an independent consultant. This has given me a 360-degree perspective of the Cerner platform. I have implemented and supported Cerner Core, HIM, Clinical Reporting, RRD, Dynamic Documentation, Meaningful Use and the CCL programming language.”
What Was Your Most Recent Assignment?
“Huntzinger has had me deployed at Beebe Healthcare since April 2016. I’m onsite there about 50% of the time. I’m helping them automate their documentation, with the goal being to make documentation as seamless and accurate as possible.”
What is Your Domain Strength?
“My strength is definitely in the Cerner realm – from implementation to optimization. Many organizations that are looking to implement Cerner have staff members who are not familiar with the Cerner environment, so I help train them. Also, I help fill gaps when an organization loses a staff member, or when someone is on leave. I can help them with all aspects of their Cerner needs, from implementation and training staff, to optimizing solutions and production support.”
What are Your Hobbies?
“I love to travel, and particularly like going off the beaten path. While I’m still young I like traveling internationally. I’ve been to Sweden, China, Thailand, Denmark, eastern Europe, east Asia and other countries. Later in life I plan to get a recreational vehicle and tour America. As a youth I always dreamed about traveling, but couldn’t. As an adult I’m able to travel frequently, so I’m living out my dreams.”
What Do You Enjoy Most About Being a Huntzinger Consultant?
“I like that Huntzinger knows me and trusts me enough to take care of their clients. I’m given a lot of autonomy, which I like, but I also know that if there was ever a problem, I could get the help and support that I need from Huntzinger.”
