Next Wave’s Greg Walton Named Life Member of HIMSS

SCRANTON, Pa., October 12, 2017 – Huntzinger Management Group, Inc. (Huntzinger), and Next Wave Health Advisors, LLC, announced today that Greg Walton has earned the privilege of being named a Life Fellow Member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Walton is an advisor with Next Wave Health Advisors, a Huntzinger company.

HIMSS Life Members are people who have been active in the healthcare information technology profession and have been a member of HIMSS for not less than 30 continuous years.

Walton has spent his entire career in health information technology. Prior to joining Next Wave Health Advisors, Walton was the Chief Information Officer of El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, Calif., where he led a successful Epic implementation that transformed the organization’s best-of-breed strategy into a single EMR solution. Walton’s career includes working for an international healthcare software company, a “Big 6” consulting partnership, a university medical center, a health sector professional association and as CIO for one of America’s top east coast integrated delivery systems. Over his career, Walton has been a HIMSS member and has served as the Board Chair. He was recognized in 2004 with the HIMSS Healthcare Leadership award, and named in 2005 by HIMSS and CHIME as CIO of the Year. In 2016 Greg was awarded the Bay Area CIO of the Year Community Champion award.
